Video Poker is a favored game that is able to be enjoyed in casinos throughout the globe, or alternatively at home on your home computer, using a web account. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the greatest mixture of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the line of contact with competing players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful players are able to choose the most money-making game every time.
After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the player an opportunity to increase their wins, in which case a further game is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
