Video Poker is a beloved game that can be played in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your computer, using a net account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, apart from the involvement with other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the player puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and players will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has selected which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most profitable game every time.

After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, several styles of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which case a further game is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
