Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be wagered on in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, using a net account. The regulations are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest assemblage of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to pick the most money-making machine every time.
Once the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance a further game is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
