Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be gambled on in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your computer, using an Internet account. The regulations are very simple and involve the player trying to get the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be given out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful gamblers are able to choose the most profitable game every instance.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that might have been won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
