Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be wagered on in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, using an Internet account. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with money. On this account it is very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the player puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "given out" on the video screen.

After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most money-making ones each and every instance.

As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to increase their profits, in which case another hand is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
